LGBTQ Studies Faculty and Graduate Student Workshops

LGBT Studies is pleased to offer a small amount of funding towards faculty or graduate-student led workshops at Yale. Our goal is to build intellectual community on this campus by fostering interaction and collaboration amongst faculty or graduate students working on LGBTQ topics. Examples of workshops that could be funded include but are not limited to:

* Reading/discussion groups

* Papers in progress workshops

* Screenings or event attendance + post-event discussion

The funds could be used among other things to support books for the participants, meals associated with  events, and tickets/transportation for participants. Note that this is not intended to directly fund speaker series or other events open to the public, although it may be used for more intimate pre- or post-event discussions between the workshop participants (and the speaker, if appropriate/possible).

Proposals will normally be funded up to $350 per event/day up to $1000 per semester and will be evaluated on a rolling basis. We are particularly interested in proposals that promote faculty and graduate student interaction between disciplines. Please allow up to a six week lead time for responses to proposals.

Workshops applications will be evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis. Proposals should include: a two paragraph description of the workshop/event, list of participants, budget, and schedule and e-mailed to lgbts@yale.edu
